<p><strong>Planning and Highways Solicitor needed in Sutton in Worcester Paying  £35 per hr ref 1731897</strong></p> <p><strong>Full time hours on a temporary basis</strong></p> </p> <p><em><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></em></p> <p><strong>Legal Casework &amp; Advisory</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage a diverse caseload covering contentious matters, planning and highways (both contentious and non-contentious), and general corporate issues</li> <li>Provide clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders</li> <li>Conduct legal research on complex issues affecting the organisation and associated bodies</li> </ul> <p><strong>Advocacy &amp; Litigation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as an advocate across various forums, including courts, tribunals, and public inquiries</li> <li>Prosecute, pursue, or defend claims, including common law matters and debt recovery cases</li> <li>Represent the organisation in hearings, ensuring robust and effective case presentation</li> </ul> <p><strong>Governance &amp; Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the delivery of a comprehensive legal service to senior stakeholders and operational teams</li> <li>Assist with proceedings and legal processes arising from organisational activity</li> <li>Provide legal input and support for governance processes, including meetings and decision-making structures</li> </ul> <p><strong>Strategic &amp; Operational Contribution</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to service improvement initiatives and organisational “best value” processes</li> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues across legal, operational, and administrative functions</li> <li>Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li> <p> If you are interested in the role, please email your CV to verity@essentialemploy.co.uk quoting the reference number. </p> </li> </ul> <p>Essential Employment is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
