About the Role
We're partnered with a well-established machinery manufacturer currently seeking a Field Service Technician – Aftermarket & Customer Care to join their team.

In this role, you will travel to customer facilities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing bakery production systems. You will ensure optimal equipment performance by performing preventive maintenance, technical diagnostics, and responsive repairs across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and combustion systems.
This position plays a key role in supporting customers throughout the equipment life cycle, contributing directly to uptime, safety, and overall satisfaction.
Duties as a Field Service Engineer:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial bakery equipment including ovens, dryers, cookers, and conveyors at customer sites
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service to optimize system reliability and minimize downtime
Work with PLC-based electrical control systems, including exposure to control panels, sensors, and automation interfaces during troubleshooting and repair
Identify and correct issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and combustion systems
Calibrate and tune control and combustion systems for performance and safety compliance
Provide remote technical support to customers when possible
Recommend and install spare parts, components, and service kits as part of planned maintenance or corrective repair work
Complete accurate service reports, maintenance records, and documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and company service software
Collaborate with Parts, Engineering, and Customer Care teams to ensure efficient communication and service delivery
Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
Qualifications & Experience required:
Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and combustion systems
Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, VFDs, relay logic, and operator interfaces
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency in welding and fabrication (TIG, MIG, or stick)
Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to travel extensively (domestic and international) for field assignments
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience servicing bakery equipment
Knowledge of combustion tuning and calibration best practices
Forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain)
Work Environment:
Frequent domestic and international travel; some assignments may extend over several weeks
Work in industrial bakery environments with exposure to heat, noise, and vibration
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, and kneeling
