Data Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of our on-prem Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Tabular model environment. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain the core data architecture that powers reporting, analytics, and business decision-making across NACOS Marine. You will work closely with BI developers, IT, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure data delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the on-prem Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability

• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate data from multiple systems (Dynamics F&O/CRM, SAP, Salesforce, HRM tools, and unstructured sources)

• Build, maintain, and optimize Tabular models for BI reporting and self-service analytics

• Implement data validation, governance, and security aligned with ISO 27001 / NIS2 requirements

• Manage backend operations including storage optimization, indexing, and query tuning

• Provide structured, high-quality datasets to BI developers and business stakeholders

• Document data flows, maintain audit readiness, and support compliance activities

• Drive continuous improvements in data architecture, performance, and tooling

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and support ad-hoc analytical needs

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or data warehouse management

• Strong hands-on experience with on-prem EDW architecture, SQL, and performance tuning

• Proficiency in ETL/ELT pipeline development and data integration methods

• Advanced experience with Tabular model development and optimization

• Familiarity with APIs and data ingestion from ERP and CRM systems

• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks

• Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks

• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills

• Microsoft data certifications are considered an advantage
