The Role

 

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly and collaborative team. This is a varied, client-facing role offering exposure to a diverse portfolio across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including invoice processing and bank reconciliations
• Reviewing bookkeeping work prepared by junior team members
• Reconciling control accounts and posting monthly payroll journals
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns under a range of VAT schemes
• Preparing and filing monthly CIS returns
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and manage submissions
• Providing Xero training and support to clients
• Supporting the wider team with ad-hoc duties as required

• Recent and relevant bookkeeping experience within practice
• Strong experience with VAT returns and control account reconciliations
• Experience preparing management accounts (or a clear desire to develop in this area)
• AAT qualified (ideally)
• Xero certified
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
• A proactive team player who can also work independently and meet deadlines

• Salary circa £28,000 - £36,000, dependent on experience and qualifications (negotiable)
• Full study support available, if required
• 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing annually up to 28 days post-qualification
• Hybrid working and flexible working hours
