Sara, Senior Healthcare Assistant, Hospice at Home team “I feel proud to work for Rowcroft and to provide our unique and expert service” As a Senior Healthcare Assistant for Rowcroft’s ‘Hospice at Home’ team, Sara provides end-of-life care to people in their own homes across a wide area of South Devon from the moors to the sea. Sara’s work takes her across 300 square miles of South Devon, from the rugged hills of Dartmoor to the sandy beaches of the coast. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, she has seen plenty of changes over the years but the expert care provided by Mary and the team she works with has essentially remained the same – with respect for our patients and their choices at the very heart of everything they do. Find out more about Mary’s role at Rowcroft Adrienne, Senior Healthcare Assistant, Hospice at Home team, nights “I’m proud to be part of the Rowcroft team that delivers excellent care at home” Adrienne is a member of Rowcroft’s Hospice at Home team that cares for patients at home in their last two weeks of life, helping families to make the most of last precious moments. Adrienne’s role involves providing compassionate care to patients through the night, and enabling exhausted loved ones to get desperately needed rest. Find out more about Adrienne’s role at Rowcroft   Julie, Complementary Therapy Team Leader “I’ve worked at Rowcroft for over 20 years now and I love my job!” Julie Milton is Rowcroft’s Complementary Therapy Team Leader. She and her team provide a range of complementary therapies to patients living with life-limiting illness and their families. As with all of Rowcroft’s services, these therapies are offered for free, with many of the sessions delivered by trained and qualified volunteers. Find out more about Julie’s role at Rowcroft   Donna, Senior Healthcare Assistant, Hospice at Home team “I wanted to give something back – and my work with Rowcroft enables me to do this” In 2020, Senior Healthcare Assistant Donna transferred from Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit to lend a hand in the Hospice at Home team. Donna fell in love with the role and subsequently became a fully-fledged member of the team, travelling widely across South Devon to care for patients and families. Find out more about Donna’s role at Rowcroft   Jen, Physiotherapist “The difference physiotherapy can make to patients’ physical and psychological wellbeing makes this a very humbling and fulfilling job.” Jen is a Specialist Physiotherapist and Team Leader, caring for patients predominantly in Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit and also as part of the Community Team. Her role is not only help to relieve patients’ symptoms such as pain, stress, breathlessness, but also to enable them to achieve some personal goals in the limited time they have left whilst maintaining their dignity and independence. Find out more about Jen’s role at Rowcroft   Karenne, Manager of the Hospice at Home Team “I wasn’t prepared for how rewarding the role is and how much I would love it” Karenne is the Manager of Rowcroft’s Hospice at Home Team, caring for patients in their own homes at the end of life. Her role is crucial in managing symptoms and distress to ensure that each of our patients achieves a ‘good death’.
