About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LAC Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Walsall. This role is crucial in providing support and guidance to Looked After Children (LAC) and their families, ensuring their welfare and development are prioritized. As a LAC Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including schools, healthcare providers, and local authorities, to create a nurturing environment for these children.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of Looked After Children.
Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant professionals.
Providing ongoing support and advocacy for children in care, ensuring their voices are heard.
Monitoring and reviewing progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Current Social Work England registration.
Experience working with children and families, particularly in the context of looked after children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
