About the role:
Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Rugby, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This full-time position starts in September 2026 and runs through to the Christmas holidays, providing an excellent opportunity to support young people in achieving their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom and one-to-one support for students with a variety of additional needs.
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in learning activities.
- Support positive behaviour strategies and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
- Help students develop independence, confidence and life skills.
- Record observations and contribute to pupil progress where required.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience supporting young people with SEN is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
