Do you want to play a key role in launching new products and ensuring that our supply chain is robust, cost‑efficient, and strategically aligned? We are looking for a Project Buyer who thrives at the intersection of project work, strategy, analysis, and supplier development.
About the position
As a Project Buyer, you will be a central member of our KBD–NPI project teams, responsible for all purchasing-related activities from the early development phase through to a successful SOP. You will actively contribute to ensuring that projects meet their targets for cost, quality, timing, and supplier strategy.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary Purchasing representative in KBD–NPI projects
Prepare cost and lead-time estimates in early project phases
Ensure supplier capacity, quality, and on-time delivery throughout the project
Coordinate handover to Product Buyers at project completion
Analyze quotations and conduct price and terms negotiations based on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principle
Evaluate suppliers’ production and delivery capabilities (capacity, risk, process)
Identify and leverage consolidation opportunities and negotiation synergies across projects
Contribute to cost optimization and standardization
Purchase prototypes, tools, samples, and development materials
Follow up on supplier documentation, QAP/Pre‑QAP, in cooperation with SQD
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of commercial experience, preferably within the automotive industry
Experience with project purchasing, supplier negotiations, and LTA agreements
Strong understanding of supply chain, risk analysis, and cost structures
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
Experience with ERP systems and purchasing administration
