Sr. Controls Project Engineer

<p>This role is responsible for leading project management and engineering design efforts for industrial automation and control system projects. The position ensures successful execution from concept through completion, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with effective project leadership and a high level of accountability.</p> <p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead and manage assigned projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate project tasks and provide clear direction to team members.</p> </li> <li> <p>Review and validate control system designs (hardware and software) for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with specifications.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure all designs are independently reviewed before release for procurement, customer delivery, or field implementation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Develop and maintain electrical and control system designs, including schematics, layouts, and standardized modules.</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, change logs, and engineering records.</p> </li> <li> <p>Follow established engineering processes and ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support sales and estimating efforts as needed.</p> </li> <li> <p>Stay current with industry technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.</p> </li> <li> <p>Take full ownership and accountability for project execution and outcomes.</p> </li> </ul> <p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.</p> </li> <li> <p>Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management and engineering design within an industrial automation or controls environment.</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through completion, including scope, budget, and schedule accountability.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of control system design, including <strong>hardware (panel design, wiring diagrams)</strong> and <strong>software (PLC/HMI programming)</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Proven ability to review and validate engineering designs for technical accuracy, compliance with specifications, and adherence to standards.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience developing and maintaining engineering documentation, including CAD drawings, design packages, and change logs.</p> </li> <li> <p>Familiarity with industry standards, specifications, and best practices related to automation and control systems.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.</p> </li> <li> <p>Effective communication skills, with the ability to lead project meetings, coordinate cross-functional teams, and interface with customers.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with project estimating and supporting pre-sales or proposal activities is a plus.</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficiency with engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or similar) and standard office software.</p> </li> <li> <p>Self-motivated with a high level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.</p> </li> </ul> <p><span class="hidden">6785</span></p>
