What does a Jr Art buyer do at WPP Production?
The Jr art buyer will play a vital role in supporting the senior art buyer, and the wider creative team, throughout the design process and production of high-end advertising campaigns for an international luxury client.
They will be responsible for securing high-quality images from a wide range of picture agencies and photographers, and negotiating the relevant image rights and usage fees.
They will have an incredible eye for detail, a resourceful, proactive nature and enjoy juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, ensuring client expectations and project deadlines are met consistently and managed smoothly.
What does a Jr art buyer do at WPP Production?
Supports the senior art buyer with the day-to-day running of a busy art buying department.
Collaborates with account managers, art directors and designers to fulfil a wide variety of briefs.
Carries out extensive image research quickly and to the highest standards.
Assists the design teams in the creative development of campaign layouts.
Charts the use of images across multiple projects, keeping the tracker meticulously updated.
Clears image rights, negotiates usage fees and manages expired licenses.
Supports the account managers with legal advice around copyright and IP law.
Manages image quality across print, digital, social and OOH campaigns, securing high-res files in the relevant formats.
Seeks out new image suppliers and maintains strong relationships with existing suppliers.
Remains constantly updated and aligned with the client’s brand identity, visual guidelines and rich heritage.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
This role reports to the Senior Art Buyer, working at the company’s Soho office in London. You will also work closely with the account managers, art directors, designers and retouchers.
Requirements:
An in-depth understanding and appreciation of photography and photographic techniques.
Picture research experience with a good working knowledge of international photo agencies, picture archives and contemporary photographers.
Highly organised, detail oriented, proactive and resourceful.
Resilient, able to work under pressure and multi-task effectively.
Excellent numeracy skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
