  • Work collaboratively with schools, educational settings, families, and partner agencies to identify appropriate support and interventions
  • Carry out assessments and reviews to determine the suitability of Assistive Technology and AAC provision
  • Support schools and professionals in implementing Assistive Technology and AAC strategies effectively
  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where required
  • Provide training, guidance, and advice to school staff, parents, carers, and professionals
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Assistive Technology and AAC interventions and make recommendations for future support
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with service requirements
  • Attend school visits, multi-agency meetings, and professional discussions across Calderdale
  • Work collaboratively with SEND colleagues and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Support person-centred planning and ensure children and young people are at the centre of decision-making processes
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality SEND services across the local authority

Requirements:

  • Experience working within SEND services, education, inclusion, specialist support services, or a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Experience supporting children and young people with communication, learning, and additional needs
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with schools, families, and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Strong understanding of person-centred approaches and inclusive practice
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload effectively
  • Experience delivering training, advice, or support to educational professionals would be advantageous
  • Knowledge or experience of Assistive Technology (AT) and/or Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is desirable but not essential
