Job Summary
This position ensures high availability of computer components, network devices, and peripherals supporting CenterPoint Energy Power Generation’s industrial control systems (ICS). The role supports all aspects of computer and network technologies for industrial control systems, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity.
Essential Functions
Assist in maintaining Power Generation’s asset management, log management, and vulnerability management suite of tools.
Perform patch management, endpoint protection administration, removable media mitigation, and hardware/software troubleshooting within the ICS environment.
Support NERC compliance activities pertaining to the Power Generation ICS environment.
Measure, track, and report key productivity indicators for technology processes, including cybersecurity metrics reporting.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for internal and external audits and provide technical support for system and component recovery processes.
Ensure availability and functionality of critical spares; track deficiencies in cybersecurity posture; and develop remediation plans.
Monitor key industry information forums for emerging security concerns and recommend appropriate courses of action.
Ensure high availability in a 24/7 work environment.
Key customers include: steam plant operations and maintenance; gas turbine operations; solar power generation; NERC compliance; IT security; corporate IT; corporate security; corporate governance; and corporate risk.
Education Description
Associate’s degree with a concentration in a related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science) required or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to high and low temperatures.
Exposure to loud noises and fumes is possible.
When appropriate, required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes (but is not limited to) hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Working Conditions
Valid driver’s license required.
Travel required between corporate offices and generating site locations; some positions may require frequent travel to field offices.
