About the Role
Location: Calmont Operations Building Department: Administration Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: The Staff Accountant, assists in all functions related to financial operations of assigned department and any related entities. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar plus 1 year experience is required or equivalent work experience is required. Preferably in a healthcare setting. (Minimum of 5 years accounting experience). Highly proficient with Microsoft applications such as excel required. Including graphing and complex formulas often linking multiple worksheets (very high level of usage), general software literacy, trending, and "what if" skills required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Primarily responsible for monthly accounting transactions, monthly account reconciliations, close process and supporting schedules. Prepare journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific regulations. Maintains subsidiary ledgers, such as fixed assets and maintains accounting schedules for real estate and operating expense accounts. Assists with preparation of work papers for the independent auditors and other functions related to financial reporting at the system level. Responsible to Director of Finance and Finance Accounting Manager for accuracy and completeness of work product. Support the Physician Practice Financial Managers, PPFM’s, in analyzing accounts and responding to information requests from outside the department. Maintain working relationships with directors and other staff and must interact with a professional attitude. Accuracy and timeliness are key attributes. Assignment of ad hoc projects in addition to the normal monthly duties. Attend meetings as required. Must be initiative-taking and organized to meet all deadlines. Should be able to work independently and is expected to improve processes continually. Excellent interpersonal skills. Good presentation skills.
