About the Role
Assistant Head Teacher Location: Kensington & Chelsea
Contract: Full-time, Summer Term 2026
Salary: Leadership scale (dependent on experience)
Start Date: April 2026 (or sooner if available)
Ready to step into senior leadership and actually make a difference? This isn’t one of those roles where you’re handed a title and a mountain of admin. This is your chance to shape a school, support staff properly, and see the impact of your work every single day.
We’re working with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Ealing looking for an Assistant Head Teacher to join them for the Summer Term. The school has a strong sense of community, a supportive Head, and a team that genuinely pulls together, no lone wolves here.
What you’ll be getting stuck into: Supporting the Head Teacher with day-to-day leadership and school improvement
Leading on teaching and learning, helping great teaching become the norm, not the exception
Coaching and developing staff, from ECTs finding their feet to experienced teachers refining their craft
Playing a key role in behaviour, safeguarding, and creating a calm, purposeful school environment
Working closely with parents, staff, and pupils to keep everything running smoothly
The kind of leader they’re looking for: An experienced teacher with proven impact in the classroom
Someone who’s already taken on leadership responsibilities or ready for that next step
Calm, confident, and approachable, the kind of person staff naturally turn to
Passionate about building a positive school culture where both pupils and staff thrive
Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and school improvement strategies
Why this school? Supportive SLT who actually support, not just delegate
Engaged pupils who enjoy learning and respond well to strong leadership
A collaborative team culture, think shared ideas, not silos
A real opportunity to leave your mark, even within a single term
Why Protocol Education? Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff
FREE access to our CPD Academy to support your leadership journey
A dedicated consultant who gets what you’re looking for
