Salary Range: Band 6, £33,002-£38,784 As Marketing Co-ordinator to the University of Hull’s Commercial Services directorate, the post-holder will support the implementation of the directorate’s Commercial Strategy. This includes working closely with colleagues across Conferences and Events, Sport & Active Wellbeing, Food Services and Student Accommodation. The role focuses on the coordination and delivery of marketing initiatives and campaigns that promote our Commercial services to the suitable audiences - driving engagement, footfall and commercial incomes. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will: Deliver the Commercial Services marketing and communications plan, supporting the senior team in delivering timely campaigns and initiatives aimed at increasing footfall, customer loyalty, and revenue across commercial services. Work with departmental managers to plan, coordinate, and monitor an annual cycle of marketing activities, ensuring alignment with student recruitment and other departmental calendars. Co-ordinate cross-channel promotional campaigns/launches, leading on projects for Conferences & Events, Food Services, Sport and Active Wellbeing, Accommodation. Proactively share regular market insights and performance reports, including ad hoc campaign updates and formal monthly updates to departmental managers Coordinate a directorate wide social media strategy and delivery plan, working with the Senior Social Media Manager to ensure policy and brand alignment. Create, post, plan, gather and schedule content on Commercial Service’s social media accounts, to engage audiences and drive footfall. This includes writing and repurposing content for use on different channels and briefing / sourcing visual content and providing live coverage at some University events. Support day to day community management by monitoring social channels and responding to DMs as appropriate, in consultation with the wider Social Media team where required. Collate data and insight on campaign effectiveness and impact present a report to department managers. Work with insights and business intelligence teams to inform marketing and communications plans Coordinate email campaigns using existing customer and prospect data, ensuring GDPR compliance and effective segmentation. Maintain and enhance the directorate’s online presence, including University web pages, intranet profiles, and third-party platforms such as Google and Apple Maps. With a strong eye for detail and a perfectionist approach, ensure quality and consistency in all outputs. Understand and represent the different audiences within Commercial Services Coordinate marketing efforts across Commercial services for events, including promotion and management of ticketing platforms. Working alongside our wider university’s events team, this will include seasonal events and Middleton Hall activity, the University’s flagship events venue. Develop and deliver internal communications through e-bulletins, intranet updates, and traditional media to engage and inform staff. Manage relationships with internal teams, external agencies, affiliate organisations, and print suppliers. Confirming plans, raising POs, sharing insights and ensuring end activity matches back to brief. Provide marketing support and represent the University at exhibitions, trade shows, and commercial networking events. Work with our Marketing creative team to produce Marketing assets and graphics as appropriate Act as a champion for the Universities identity and brand, ensuring final product embodies the brand verbally and visually.
