Hubbell is Currently looking for 2nd shift Quality technician l
Hours are 4:00 PM to 2:30AM M-T with overtime on Friday and Saturday if needed
Location 2911 Industrial Park Dr Lenoir City TN
Quality Assurance is responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring quality standards are being met, and improving the manufacturing process by removing waste and change.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
Tests and inspects all chemicals entering the plant before allowing transfer into storage tanks.
Reads meters, gauges, and other instruments and reports inventory levels to ensure tank capacity is sufficient to receive more product.
Tests parts and materials to ensure they meet requirements, dimensions, and finish specifications.
Tests materials and chemicals for percentage of content.Operates forklifts to change out drums or move materials/chemicals.
Pulls samples from drums, tanks, and other containers for testing.Uses computers, gauges, instruments, and other equipment to test or check materials and chemicals.
Tests and measures incoming products to ensure they meet company specifications before acceptance for receiving and payment.Inspects parts for cracks, proper finish, fiberglass incorporation, contour, and other physical characteristics.
Measures parts for dimensional accuracy using measuring tools or templates.
Communicates with line leaders and others as needed.Physically lifts or moves parts for visual inspection, lifting up to 35 pounds independently; heavier parts require assistance or use of a hoist.
Places large products on a testing platform and uses an I‑beam pressure plate to position steel beams for structural testing.
Performs structural testing of products.Uses math skills to adjust chemicals, test products, and assist with formulas and bills of materials.
Conducts tests on other equipment, parts, and products as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Experience handling chemicals and/or previous chemical training.
Experience using problem solving techniques with proven ability to analyze and interpret data.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Ability to pass forklift test.
Requires intermediate math skills.
Have the ability to communicate well with others.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
