Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant (m/f/d) to support our finance operations in South Korea. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with coordination of payroll, local compliance, and administrative support activities.

You will act as a key interface between the local business, external service providers, and NACOS Marine's global finance organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient financial operations, and compliance with local regulations. This position offers broad exposure across finance, payroll, treasury, and business administration within an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Support day-to-day accounting activities, including invoice processing, payment administration, and financial transactions
  • Coordinate with external accounting providers on statutory accounting, tax filings, and local reporting requirements
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
  • Assist with financial reporting and ensure compliance with local regulations and group accounting requirements
  • Work closely with global finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Support treasury-related activities including weekly payments, cash management, liquidity planning, and trade finance administration
  • Assist with accounts receivable follow-up and debt collection activities
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and banking partners regarding financial transactions and inquiries
  • Support financial controls and process improvements to ensure operational efficiency
  • Act as the local point of contact for payroll administration, pension plans, and employee benefits
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers and benefits administrators to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
  • Support employees with payroll, benefits, and administrative inquiries
  • Assist with local HR administration and compliance with South Korean labor regulations
  • Support the Managing Director with local business administration activities
  • Assist with reviews of local contracts, finance policies, and labor-related matters
  • Facilitate communication between local operations and global finance and HR functions
  • Coordinate with external advisors and authorities regarding financial, tax, and employment-related matters
  • Support continuous improvement of local administrative and financial processes

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in accounting, finance administration, payroll coordination, or a similar role
  • Familiarity with South Korean accounting practices, tax regulations, and labor laws
  • Experience coordinating with external accounting firms, payroll providers, auditors, or tax advisors
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial administration processes
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar platforms is an advantage
  • Fluent in Korean and English, both written and spoken
