About the Role
Position Summary
The Institute for Relationship Science in University of Denver’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position. Funding for the positions comes from an NIH-funded projects (R01MD018167 PI Perry, a longitudinal study of LGB couples. Fellows may be funded and supported for up to 2 years, pending performance and grant support. The positions are located at the University of Denver and involves close collaboration with multiple faculty members within the Institute.
We are seeking applicants with experience in clinical and/or community-based research, and in managing and supervising large research project using complex longitudinal designs. Additionally, experience, knowledge, and/ or research interest in couples and family relationships, health disparities, LGBTQ+ health, and longitudinal methods are desirable. Finally, we seek applicants with strong interpersonal skills, prior clinical research experience, and excellent organizational skills to enable management of these projects involving multiple, longitudinal assessments.
Faculty mentors at the Institute for Relationship Science are committed to providing mentoring and research resources that will support fellows in their professional development, including opportunities to submit and publish papers from multiple rich datasets available in our research lab, support for presenting research at conferences, and mentorship and time to write new grant proposals. In addition to data that would result from the current projects, the fellows would also have access to multiple datasets that the PI and other faculty have collected. All of these commitments are in the service of aiding the fellows toward establishing an independent research program. For clinically trained fellows, opportunities to accrue hours for licensure will also be available.

Fluency in English
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong, core math skills and experience with advanced statistical analyses

Required Qualifications
PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Developmental Psychology or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, and/ or research interest in couples and family relationships, mental health, maternal perinatal depression, maternal health, or LGBTQ+ health.
Experience working in healthcare settings, such as hospitals.
Experience working with LGBTQ+ or pregnant/postpartum women.
Working Environment
Standard office environment.
Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.
