Civil Litigation Solicitor

The Opportunity

A growing and well-regarded law firm is looking for a driven Civil Litigation Solicitor to join its expanding disputes team based in Burnley. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility, offering exposure to a wide range of matters and clear progression opportunities within a collaborative environment.

Duties of the role

• Manage your own caseload of civil disputes from start to finish including contracts, debt recovery, property litigation, shareholder disputes, contentious probate and healthcare related claims
• Advise clients on strategy, risk, and costs
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, and court documents
• Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, and trial
• Attend court and settlement discussions where required
• Support junior colleagues and contribute to team development
• Build strong client relationships
• Get involved in business development and profile-raising
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards

About You

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with up to 6 years PQE
• Experience managing your own litigation caseload
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Commercially aware with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
• Confident communicator with excellent client care skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
