<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Summary: The primary role of a blood drawer is to support various assigned tasks, address issues, provide training, and offer workflow suggestions.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p></div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging samples, documenting maintenance activities and cleaning, updating patient details, etc.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Gathering and storing specimens in accordance with established protocols.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Clearly and politely explaining the venipuncture process or other specimen collections needed.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Demonstrating proper techniques using straight needles or butterfly needles, and fully comprehending all physician instructions.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Matching requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing samples as required by test orders.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Verifying test requisitions against scripts and packaging specimens for transportation.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Maintaining specimen samples at correct temperatures, placing them in suitable containers, labeling accurately, and following specific transport procedures to preserve specimen integrity.</div>
<div class="olUlHelper pl10px">Adhering to OSHA and DEP regulations, attending annual departmental trainings, and handling telephone inquiries and laboratory results.</div>

<div>Minimum Qualifications: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment as required, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.</div>
