About the role:
justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in Key Stage 4 from September 2026. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping young people succeed academically, socially, and emotionally as they prepare for their next stage of education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout lessons and school activities.
- Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and meeting individual learning targets.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Support emotional wellbeing and implement behaviour support strategies where required.
- Liaise with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEN.
- Understanding of a range of additional needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, or moderate learning difficulties.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to motivate and build positive relationships with young people.
- Reliable, professional, and flexible approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
