About the Role
A prestigious University in New England is looking to expand its neurosurgery department by hiring a general neurosurgeon. Innovative skill sets in spine and cranial will be very well supported. Walk into an opportunity with great potential to build a large practice. As this is an academic position, there will be ample opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and fellows. The new neurosurgeon will join the faculty and collaborate with a world-class team of physicians.<br><br>The Health System is the region's largest academic multi-specialty health system, consistently ranked very highly among medical schools nationwide. The academic health system prides itself on remaining at the forefront of scientific development and providing unparalleled patient care.<br><br>Physicians primarily admit to a 230-bed hospital. The hospital boasts state-of-the-art equipment. Block OR time will be available, and an experienced staff of APPs will be on hand to assist in clinic, inpatient practice, and the OR.<br><br>Practice Highlights:<br>• 5-7 days per month; additional compensation if call is taken more than 10 days per month<br>• Referrals will come from both internal and external physicians who practice in the area<br>• APPs, discharge team, and residency program personnel are all well-staffed and extremely capable<br>• Enjoy a balanced mix of clinical, research, and teaching responsibilities<br>• Research opportunities exist for basic science, clinical trials, and translational science; close collaboration for genomics research<br><br>Nestled in the heart of New England, this charming town offers a blend of historical character and contemporary convenience.
