About the Role

Senior Engineer - Rail & Water Location: East London Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35) Working pattern: Full-time, site basedWe are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to take a lead role on the Manor Road NOS7 & NOS8 remediation packages. This is a complex civil engineering scheme involving the repair and remediation of two bridge structures and five trunk sewer barrels, spanning both rail and highway interfaces.The works are currently in design phase, offering a genuine opportunity to be involved from early concept through to delivery on site. You will play a key role in developing innovative engineering and temporary works solutions, leading a team of engineers and sub agents, and driving safe, high-quality and commercially successful delivery.You will work closely with the Project Manager, Agent, commercial and planning teams, and act as a key interface with the client and supply chain.Senior Engineer RoleOverall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project packagesLead and manage a team of engineers to deliver works safely, on programme and to specificationEnsure all project documentation is produced and implemented (RAMS, ITPs, permits, consents)Manage pre-construction reviews and ensure all stakeholder approvals are in placeMaintain and manage the construction programme, progress reporting and short-term lookaheadsSupport procurement of specialist subcontractors and temporary works designersOversee the development, procurement and delivery of multiple complex temporary works schemesMaximise commercial performance, identifying variations, opportunities and risk mitigationChair weekly site meetings and produce accurate internal and client reportsMaintain high standards of HSQE compliance across all site activitiesClient & stakeholder managementDay-to-day liaison with the client's operations teamLead on package planning, consents and permittingEnsure client requirements and expectations are consistently met or exceededCost control & reportingPopulate and manage the project cost planMaintain detailed site records and diariesIdentify cost pressures, savings opportunities and risks, escalating appropriatelyProduce accurate weekly and monthly reports in line with company proceduresAbout youEssentialStrong background in civil engineering within the water / rail sectorWorking knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk managementDegree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Valid CSCS cardProven ability to lead teams and solve technically challenging problemsStrong communication, leadership and mentoring skillsDrives high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental complianceDesirableSMSTS or IOSH Managing SafelyTemporary Works Co-ordinatorConfined space trainingLift supervisor/co-ordinatorProven track record delivering similar complex civil engineering packagesWhy apply?£450 per day, inside IR35Early involvement in a technically challenging remediation schemeOpportunity to build and develop your own engineering teamLong-term framework work within the water sectorStrong support from a well-established delivery teamInterested?
