About the Role

About the role: We are seeking to appoint a caring, dedicated, and proactive Pastoral Care Co-ordinator to join a welcoming secondary school in Doncaster. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026. For the successful candidate, there may be the opportunity to secure a permanent role following an initial period working on a supply basis. As a Pastoral Care Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and overall school experience. Working closely with staff, students, parents, and carers, you will help foster a positive, inclusive environment where every young person can flourish both academically and personally. We are also considering candidates with a background in other closely related roles, such as cover manager or safeguarding positions. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day pastoral support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Promote positive behaviour and support the implementation of effective behaviour management strategies, including restorative approaches. Monitor and encourage high levels of attendance and punctuality. Develop positive relationships with parents and carers to support students’ wellbeing and achievement. Deliver targeted interventions for vulnerable and at-risk students. Contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures in line with school policies. Maintain accurate records of student support, interventions, and outcomes. Pre-requisites: Experience working with young people aged 11–16, ideally within a secondary school setting. A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities. A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and student wellbeing. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team. Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, counselling, safeguarding, or a related field are desirable but not essential. Apply Today If you are passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference to their educational journey, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application using the form below.
