Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Architect to join our IT Infrastructure Architecture and Design team. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our technology landscape, based on both on-premises technologies and Azure public cloud. You will collaborate within a team of experienced architects responsible for networking, databases, virtualization, and other core technologies, bringing a broad cross-technology view and experience on both on-prem and Azure-based technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architecture of both on-prem and Azure-based platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and business goals.
Collaborate with other platform architects and teams to integrate Azure services with on-prem technologies
Evaluate emerging services and technologies and assess their relevance to our business.
Develop business cases, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans for new initiatives.
Define best practices on security, scalability, cost optimization, and governance
Support the migration of workloads from on-prem to Azure from an infrastructure point of view by re-architecting from the hardware and software choices that have been made for on premises deployments to Azure-native components and solution
Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for Azure within the Infrastructure Architecture and Design team.
Contribute to the continuing evolution of the on-premises infrastructure or private cloud.
Own your technology – develop long-team vision for your primary technological responsibilities
Propose cost effective alternatives to existing solutions
Ownership of infrastructure related software contract related to job content – roadmap follow up, budget forecasting, working with procurement on securing optimal deals
Your profile
Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent through experience.
Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years in IT architecture roles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Experience
Proven multi-year experience in designing and implementation IT infra solutions both on-premise and on Azure
Strong understanding of and proven experience with the following IT infrastructure components:
Virtualization/IaaS: VMware/OpenStack
Containerization: Kubernetes, OpenShift
Operating Systems: RedHat Linux, Microsoft Windows
Networking: Cisco ACI, AVI/F5 load balancing, PaloAlto firewalls
Database: Oracle, Oracle Exadata, Couchbase, PostGreSQL
Automation: Ansible, Bicep, ARM, Inmanta, Terraform
Experience on designing and implementing solutions that span the full infrastructure stack
Strong understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, and security services.
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-prem infrastructure.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Ability to drive change in an environment with multiple external partners/service providers
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with other cloud platforms (Oracle OCI, Amazon AWS, Google GCP) is a definite plus.
