About the organisation This respected housing provider manages a diverse portfolio of supported and general needs homes across multiple local sites. With a strong community focus, they deliver high-quality tenancy, income, and estate services through locally based teams, working closely with residents to create safe, well-managed environments.

Key responsibilities of a Housing Manager:

  • Provide confident, visible leadership to a busy housing management team
  • Line manage and support a team of 8–10 staff across income, tenancy/estate management and domestic services
  • Oversee tenancy management across a multi-site portfolio
  • Monitor and drive income collection performance
  • Lead on allocations and lettings activity
  • Support resolution of ASB cases (low volume)
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence, coaching and supporting front-line colleagues
  • Contribute to service improvement and regulatory inspection preparation
  • Ensure a smooth and effective handover from the current postholder

Working arrangements

  • 35 hours per week
  • Hybrid model:
    • 1–2 days per week in the main office
    • Regular site visits across local properties
    • Up to 1 day per week working from home for admin

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in housing management leadership (Housing Team Manager or similar)
  • Strong operational knowledge across tenancy management, income, lettings/allocations and ASB
  • A confident and supportive people manager, experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and maintaining a visible presence
  • Able to hit the ground running and manage a smooth transition
  • Experience supporting service improvement or regulatory readiness is highly desirable
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach suited to interim assignments

What’s on offer

  • Competitive rate of £33 per hour
  • Initial 3-month contract, with potential to extend to 6 months
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a respected housing organisation
  • A varied, people-focused role combining leadership, operational delivery and project work
