1:1 Support Assistant Year 2 Bury

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS14 area of Bury from September 2026. This full-time role offers an ongoing opportunity, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will provide focused one-to-one support within a Year 2 class, helping a pupil access learning, develop confidence, and make positive progress both academically and socially.

The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, personalised support, and creating an environment where every child can thrive. Staff work collaboratively to provide a calm, nurturing, and engaging learning experience for all pupils. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within a Year 2 classroom.
• Support learning activities by adapting tasks and resources where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence throughout the school day.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to ensure consistent support.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
• A patient, caring, and supportive approach to learning and behaviour.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Confidence working on a 1:1 basis and supporting pupils with individual needs.
