What will you do?
The Penetration Tester Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of penetration testers to conduct security assessments and identify vulnerabilities in customer applications and IT infrastructure. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing penetration testing activities, ensuring qualitative service delivery.
As a Penetration Tester Manager, you are responsible for:
1.Leadership & People Management
Ability to build an inclusive, high-performing team culture focused on ownership and continuous improvement
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing technical security professionals
Ability to coach team members, provide constructive feedback, and support career growth
Experience conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and managing individual development plans
Strong conflict-resolution and stakeholder-management skills
2. Penetration Testing:
Plan and execute penetration tests on various IT assets, including networks, applications, and systems.
Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
3. Project Management:
Coordinate and prioritize penetration testing projects based on risk and business impact.
Develop project plans, set timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
4. Client Interaction:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand their security requirements.
Present findings and recommendations in a clear and understandable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
Create and present proposals to clients based on the needs of the clients
5. Tool and Methodology Development:
Challenge the status quo on how we perform penetration testing and actively lead changes within the organization to strategically implement changes
Evaluate and implement new penetration testing tools and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of the team.
Contribute to the development of standardized testing procedures.
6. Documentation:
Create comprehensive and clear reports detailing vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended remediation strategies.
Maintain accurate records of testing activities, methodologies, and results..
Requirements
Technical proficiency in penetration testing tools and methodologies.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
