The primary goal is to satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, the Shipping and Inventory Clerk is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, building pallets/crates and packaging materials for shipping, monitoring and maintaining inventory; preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting). 

Other responsibilities: 

• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies 
• Package, secure and load product 
• Track and prepare documents for product while monitoring database activity for inventory 
• Communicate effectively with vendors when necessary, both verbally and in writing.  
• Maintains dock and storage facilities in an organized manner; receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; restocks items as necessary; labels shelves 

• Maintains all necessary associated documentation to support shipping and inventory activity 
• Follows all plant safety guidelines; practices and procedures. Must be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area 
• Properly use personal protective equipment when required 
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements 
• Supports all departments with inventory needs 

• Perform other tasks as assigned 

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. 
 

• Blueprint reading knowledge preferred 
• Must have basic computer skills (primarily Microsoft Excel) 

• Must have basic measurement and math skills; must have knowledge of basic hand tools and measuring instruments 
• Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available) 
• SAP experience desirable  
• Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug test 
• Team player - must be able to work with others and/or alone
