About the Role
<h3>About the Role</h3><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Lead Audio/Visual Service Technician</strong> to support and service advanced AV, lighting control, and security systems in primarily <strong>educational environments</strong>, with additional work in industrial and office settings. This role will serve as a technical lead in troubleshooting, repair, and customer interaction while ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.</p><hr /><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and service <strong>audio/visual and lighting control systems</strong></li><li><strong>Utilize system software and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve system failures</strong></li><li><strong>Interpret scopes of work, drawings, and blueprints</strong></li><li><strong>Terminate and service AV devices and camera systems</strong></li><li><strong>Install, pull, and dress copper and coaxial cabling</strong> in backbone, horizontal, and riser environments</li><li>Ensure all work complies with <strong>building codes and safety standards</strong></li><li><strong>Communicate effectively with Service Coordinators, Technicians, Project Managers, Field Managers</strong>, and customers regarding service progress and resolutions</li><li>Provide <strong>exceptional customer service</strong> and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor</li><li>Participate in an <strong>on‑call rotation</strong> to support customer needs</li></ul><hr /><h3>Required Skills & Experience</h3><ul><li>Strong ability to <strong>read and interpret blueprints</strong></li><li><strong>Solid knowledge of electronics</strong> with advanced troubleshooting capabilities</li><li>Strong <strong>computer networking</strong> skills</li><li>Excellent <strong>organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills</strong></li><li><strong>Clear oral and written communication</strong> skills</li><li>Technical degree in electronics <strong>or equivalent hands‑on experience</strong></li><li><strong>Prior experience with commercial security, AV, or related system installations</strong></li><li><strong>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</strong></li></ul><hr /><h3>Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience with:<ul><li>Lighting control systems</li><li>CCTV and camera systems</li><li>Advanced AV technologies</li></ul></li><li>Industry certifications such as:<ul><li><strong>Crestron</strong></li><li><strong>Savant</strong></li><li><strong>AMX</strong></li><li><strong>Lutron</strong></li><li>Other relevant technical certifications or training</li></ul></li></ul><hr /><h3>Work Environment</h3><ul><li>Primarily <strong>school systems</strong></li><li><strong>Occasional work in industrial sites and office buildings</strong></li></ul><hr /><h3>Why Join?</h3><ul><li>Stable, growing organization</li><li>Opportunity to work with <strong>cutting‑edge technology</strong></li><li><strong>Leadership role with hands‑on impact</strong></li><li><strong>Supportive team environment and professional growth opportunities</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
