Complex Needs Support Assistant - Lincoln

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a full-time Complex Needs Support Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Lincoln area from September 2026 on a long-term basis.
The setting supports pupils with a range of complex special educational needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, sensory needs, and associated communication and physical needs. The provision offers a highly structured and nurturing environment, with personalised learning programmes designed around individual EHCP outcomes.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to provide consistent support, helping pupils to develop communication, independence and life skills while accessing a meaningful and engaging curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs
• Support the delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions
• Assist pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation strategies
• Promote engagement, independence and confidence in learning and daily activities
• Implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Support pupils with personal care, mobility and physical needs where required
• Maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
• Monitor and record pupil progress, wellbeing and behaviour

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN (school, care or similar setting desirable)
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Understanding of autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and sensory support strategies
• Confidence supporting pupils with personal care needs where required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
