About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Worker to join a welcoming Secondary school in the Grantham area from September 2026. This is a long-term supply role that has the potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with young people and are committed to promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, attendance, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Build positive relationships with students, acting as a trusted and supportive role model.
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management and intervention strategies.
- Monitor student attendance, wellbeing, and engagement with learning.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring, pastoral, or support setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.
