About the Role
A welcoming and supportive special needs school in Herne Hill is seeking a full-time Food Technology Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD ,SEMH and PMLD.
While you will occasionally work with students in the classroom, your primary responsibility will be to support the Food Technology teacher with administrative and practical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with admin duties related to Food Technology lessons
• Place online food orders and ensure timely delivery to relevant classes
• Prepare ingredients, resources, and cooking equipment before lessons
• Support in cleaning and resetting the cooking space after lessons
• Create lesson materials and resources as directed by the teacher
• Provide in-class support during cooking activities under teacher supervision
• Deliver food orders and maintain accurate stock
• Be ready to assist elsewhere in the school when required
What We're Looking For:
• Confident with IT and online systems
• Strong organisation and admin skills
• Flexible, proactive, and a team player
• Experience working with students with special needs is a plus
• Must have an enhanced DBS for both children and adults
• Able to work 8.45am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday
