The Role
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects, working closely with operational teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.
You'll be involved in a varied role that combines site-based support with continuous improvement initiatives, helping to drive best practice across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
Provide practical health and safety advice and support to operational teams.
Assist in setting and achieving project health and safety objectives.
Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
Contribute health and safety expertise to pre-construction activities, tenders and bid submissions.
Identify opportunities to improve health, safety and environmental systems and processes.
Develop and promote initiatives that encourage continuous improvement and best practice.
Undertake Attitude, Behaviour and Culture (ABC) tours to help embed a positive safety culture.
Encourage proactive hazard reporting and promote safe working behaviours across all levels of the business.
Build strong working relationships with site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure health and safety remains at the forefront of project delivery.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor who enjoys working collaboratively with operational teams and providing practical, solutions-focused support.
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, SHE Advisor or HSQE Advisor.
A background within utilities, energy, civil engineering, infrastructure, power, highways, rail or major construction projects.
Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
A proactive approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
Tech IOSH membership (or working towards Graduate IOSH) would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence.
