Senior Quantity Surveyor

<p><strong>Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor </strong><br /><strong>Working in Catterick </strong><br /><strong>&pound;400 &#8211; &pound;475 per day </strong><br /><strong>6 month contract (possibility of extension) </strong><br /><strong>Full time position (four days on site / one day working from home)</strong></p> <p>We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor individual to join an established commercial team on a major construction project based at Marne Barracks, Catterick. <br />This is a site-based role, with a minimum requirement of 4 days per week on site. </p> <p><u>Role:</u><br />Working as part of a wider commercial team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for key subcontract procurement packages while supporting the commercial management of the project through all phases of construction. </p> <p><u>Responsibilities:</u></p> <ul> <li>Managing subcontract procurement from enquiry through to award</li> <li>Issuing ITT documentation to the supply chain</li> <li>Analysing and comparing subcontract quotations</li> <li>Undertaking take-offs and measure checks against drawings and specifications</li> <li>Leading tender discussions and commercial negotiations with subcontractors</li> <li>Drafting and issuing subcontract order documentation</li> <li>Preparing procurement schedules and cost reports</li> <li>Assisting with budget management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle</li> <li>Managing subcontract valuations, variations, payments and final accounts</li> <li>Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities</li> <li>Supporting monthly CVRs and forecasting</li> <li>Liaising closely with operational teams, site management and the client team</li> <li>Ensuring commercial procedures and contractual requirements are adhered to</li> <li>Compiling internal and external procurement and commercial reports</li> </ul> <p><u>Requirements:</u></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience working as a QS or Senior QS within construction and new build environments</li> <li>Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management</li> <li>Experience administering subcontract packages on live construction projects</li> <li>Good understanding of standard forms of contract</li> <li>Excellent negotiation and communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider commercial team</li> </ul> <p>If this is something that you are interested in, please do apply with your most up to date CV and we will be in touch.</p>
