AWS Devops Engineer

<p><strong>Description</strong><p>As a DevOps Engineer you will contribute to design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and/or applications.<p>We are seeking a highly experienced <span style="color:rgb(8,7,7);">Senior</span> DevOps Engineer to join our Helios Platform team. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can engage with <span style="color:rgb(8,7,7);">Senior</span> leadership and drive strategic cloud initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AWS and Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with a strong ability to work independently on complex systems.<p>Key Responsibilities:<p>Lead development and deployment of cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS (80–90%) with increasing Azure involvement.<p>Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.<p>Develop and maintain infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and Azure ARM templates.<p>Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Security engineers and development teams.<p>Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and <span style="color:rgb(8,7,7);">Senior</span> leadership.<p>Perform integrated and customer acceptance testing with a focus on quality and timely delivery.<p>Provide off-shift and weekend support as needed.<p>Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the team.<p>Typical task breakdown:<p>- Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.<p>- Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.<p>- Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features<p>- Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits<p>- Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.<p>Interaction with team: <p>- Team consists of devops engineers and Cloud Security engineers. <p>- Working with Development teams. <p>Required Technical Skills <p>(Required)<p>- 8+ years of DevOps experience<p>- 5+ years of AWS or Azure cloud experience<p>- Experience managing YAML-based continuous integration, continuous delivery systems (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).<p>- Experience writing and deploying Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation templates and/or Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. <p>(Desired) <p>- Associate or Professional-level AWS and/or Azure certifications related to DevOps, Development, or Architecture.<p>- Strong <span style="color:rgb(8,7,7);">background</span> working with revision control systems (Git, etc.).<p>- Experience performing root cause analysis on CI/CD pipelines.<p>- Experience with IDE Tools (VSCode, Eclipse, Intellij, etc.).<p>- Great verbal and written communication skills to collaborate cross functionally and enhance scalability.<p><strong>Skills</strong><p>devops, aws<p><strong>Top Skills Details</strong><p>devops,aws<p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong><p>Education & Experience Required: <p>- 8+ years of software development experience<p>Preferred Qualifications<p>AWS or Azure certifications (Associate or Professional level).<p>Experience with Git and version control systems.<p>Familiarity with IDEs like VSCode, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.<p>Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and performing root cause analysis.<p><strong>Experience Level</strong><p>Expert Level</p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
