About the Role
Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools | Brighton & Surrounding Areas

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to build experience in education, whether you're an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, or someone with experience working with young people who is ready for a new challenge.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be leading the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils stay on task and the lesson runs smoothly.
This isn’t a teaching role — but it does require presence, confidence and the ability to manage a room.
You will be:
Delivering pre-set lesson work across a range of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
Keeping pupils engaged and focused on their work
Responding calmly and confidently to challenges
Feeding back to teaching staff on how the lesson went
Who This Role Suits
This role works particularly well for individuals who:
Are confident speaking in front of groups
Can remain calm and assertive when needed
Have experience working with young people (education, sport, coaching, youth work, etc.)
Are considering a future career in teaching
Want flexible work across different secondary schools
You don’t need formal teaching experience — but you do need to be comfortable leading a classroom.
Access to a car can be a real advantage for this role, as it can open up more opportunities across different schools. However, this is not essential.
