About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4/5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Colne from September 2026. This is a full-time, temporary position on a long-term supply basis for the Autumn Term.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a mixed Year 4/5 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire pupils to achieve their full potential. The school is known for its supportive leadership team, inclusive ethos, and commitment to providing a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
- Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil achievement, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations for learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support pupil development.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience of teaching within Key Stage 2.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum and effective teaching practices.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons for mixed-age classes.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
