You may also mentor Sterile Processing Technician 1 staff.</p><h4>Essential Functions of the Role</h4><ul><li>Preparing and arranging rooms, including organizing instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies based on department needs.</li><li>Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants. Operate sterilization equipment according to guidelines.</li><li>Efficiently handling inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments, reusable medical equipment, and supplies for general and surgical use.</li><li>Follow strict safety, environmental, and infection control rules to uphold patient care and office standards.</li><li>Share skills with your team. Offer in-service training sessions. Assist with training Sterile Processing staff. Mentoring entry-level positions.</li></ul><h4>Key Success Factors</h4><ul><li>Familiarity with equipment and instrument sterilization techniques and procedures</li><li>Understanding of simple medical terminology</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, demonstrating tact when dealing with patients and colleagues</li><li>Adherence to best practice safety measures, environmental protocols, manufacturers' guidelines, and infection control practices.</li></ul><h4>Belonging Statement</h4><p>We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported.</p><ul><li>QUALIFICATIONS</li><li>EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent</li><li>EXPERIENCE - (1) one year of experience</li><li>CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Cer Board Sterile Prcng & Dist (CBSPD), Cert Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), Cert Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), Cert Surgical Technologist (CST): Must have one of these.<ul><li>Certified Board Sterile Processing & Dist (CBSPD), or</li><li>Certified Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), or</li><li>Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT)</li><li>Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).</li></ul></li></ul>
