Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist for a travel assignment in Hyannis, MA. This role involves working with high frequency sound waves to produce ultrasound images and related data utilized by physicians for medical diagnosis. As part of a dynamic team, the Ultrasound Technologist will prepare patients and operate ultrasound equipment in a professional healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Technologist

• Set up equipment and prepare patient for examination
• Select the appropriate transducer type and frequency
• Obtain and review patient history and clinical data
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
• Requisition supplies and equipment maintenance services
• Coordinate work to achieve productivity and efficiency
• Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality
• Maintain radiology records and label images
• Assist physicians with special procedures/needle biopsies
• Instruct in ultrasound program education
• Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and infection control
• Participate in professional self-growth and development
• Maintain ethical relationships and patient confidentiality
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Requirements of the Ultrasound Technologist

• Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology
• Registered in both Abdomen and OB/GYN by ARDMS
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Maintain active and current certifications and registrations
