Numotion / Zachary’s Story Making a Difference, One Chair at a Time Zachary: Numotion Warehouse Technician Since 2024 For Numotion Warehouse Technician Zachary, every day is an opportunity to make a difference: one repair, one fitting, one smile at a time. Zachary lives in Pekin, Illinois, and is a proud father of two boys, Eli and Adaein, and a proud stepdad to Aidan, Jayla, and Brody. He and his wife, Nadine, are also excitedly awaiting their first child together, due in December. When he’s not working, Zachary enjoys playing music, watching movies, and spending time with his family, especially during summer pool days, board game nights, and local festivals. Zachary joined Numotion in June 2024, but his connection to the company began years earlier through his personal experiences and relationships. Growing up, his best friend Aaron lived with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and worked with Numotion ATP Eric Holman. “To us, when we were 12, he was known as ‘Eric the wheelchair guy,’” Zachary shared with a smile. Later, Zachary’s brother also became a Numotion customer. “We were coming into the office to get his K450 worked on,” he recalled. “I just asked what you needed to be able to work here, as my background is a mixed amalgam that I thought would fit in nicely.” Before joining Numotion, Zachary worked as a paramedic, in hospital and home health settings, and even in schools as a personal assistant. Combined with his natural knack for mechanics and tinkering, his career experiences shaped him into someone who thrives on problem-solving and human connection. When asked what motivated him to pursue this work, Zachary’s answer was simple: “My life experience, friends, family, and wanting to have a job that at the end of the day I felt like I was doing something of worth.” Since joining the Peoria team, Zachary has found fulfillment in both the technical and personal aspects of his role. Recently, he helped with an adjustment and fitting for a young client receiving a new chair. “The family was amazing,” he said. “The client got a new chair that fit them and their needs and allowed for greater independence and freedom. It filled my heart to have even been a part of that and see everyone leave with smiles on their face.” From saving useful parts for future repairs to prebuilding chairs to help his teammates work more efficiently, Zachary takes pride in every piece of his work. “I am one cog in the Peoria machine that serves a huge area and helps so many people, and that’s the best.” Zachary Read More Employee Stories Michele’s Story Michele’s career in complex rehab began with a defining moment. While finishing her Mechanical Engineering degree at Michigan State University, her cousin was paralyzed in an accident. The experience had a profound impact on her and her family, shifting her focus away from an internship with Ford Motor Company and toward a career dedicated to helping people with disabilities live more independent lives. Shaunae’s Story Shaunae’s path into complex rehab was shaped by family, hands-on problem solving, and early work serving rural communities. After returning to Numotion in 2015, she progressed into an Assistive Technology Professional role, helping build services across multiple regions. Today, she’s driven by creating personalized solutions and meaningful moments that support independence for the families she serves. Joey’s Story Joey began his career in mobility in 2014 when he joined a company that later became part of Numotion in 2018. Before entering the field, he worked as an athletic trainer and was simply searching for a full-time job. As he learned the work, he quickly realized it aligned with what he valued most. “I honestly just needed a full-time job, but as I started on the job, it just fit my personality and desire to serve others in my vocation.”
