What You'll Do:
- Lead electrical design and execution for minor capital and expense projects from concept through commissioning.
- Develop comprehensive project scopes, design criteria, and key engineering deliverables including SLDs, load lists, specifications, and datasheets.
- Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process ensuring project integrity and safety.
- Interface effectively with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams to align on project goals and execution strategies.
- Review and approve critical electrical engineering documents such as protection and control schematics, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
- Perform and review power system studies including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis.
- Support equipment selection, bid evaluations, and technical reviews for major electrical components like transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, and VFDs.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and execution plans while managing financial performance.
- Oversee construction activities, including installation supervision, field modifications, and contractor coordination.
- Lead commissioning efforts with energization plans, checkout procedures, and functional testing to ensure seamless operations.
- Guarantee compliance with all relevant codes and standards including NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and NFPA 70E.
- Support permitting and regulatory compliance aspects of project delivery.
- Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and constructability sessions, providing technical leadership throughout.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring safety and operational integrity.
- Compile detailed project documentation, including reports, as-builts, and turnover packages.
- Bring deep expertise in high and medium voltage power systems, protective relaying, grounding, and lightning protection.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency with ETAP, SAP, and MS Office suite.
- Strong self-management and project leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Valid TWIC card required.
- Demonstrated experience with high/medium voltage systems, protective relaying, and large motor applications.
- Knowledge of applicable standards such as NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with HAZOP participation and safety review processes.
- Familiarity with Siemens SEL protective relaying systems.
- Experience in large-scale LNG plant electrical design and operations.
- Additional certifications in project management or electrical safety.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
- 10-15 years of closely related experience within the energy or LNG sectors.
