(Senior) Service Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Overview

We are now looking for a Service Engineer (m/f/d) Navigation to join our team in Schiedam. In this intermediate-level role, you will be responsible for performing electronic repairs, commissioning, and maintenance of navigation systems onboard vessels. The position requires a solid technical background, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work confidently with customers both in shipyards and onboard operational vessels. Regular travel within Europe (and occasionally beyond) should be expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electronic repairs and maintenance of marine navigation equipment onboard vessels

• Execute commissioning and field service tasks in accordance with project work plans

• Conduct functional tests, troubleshooting, adjustments, and system verifications

• Support installation work and perform pre-commissioning checks as needed

• Document all work performed and prepare clear, accurate service reports

• Collaborate with shipyards, shipowners, classification societies, and internal departments

• Ensure work is performed in accordance with NACOS Marine Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental guidelines

• Promote available solutions and provide technical guidance to customers when appropriate

Key Requirements

• Technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, or marine systems, ideally within the maritime industry

• Experience working with shipborne electronic or navigation equipment

• Ability to read and understand electronic and electrical documentation

• Hands-on, structured, and solution-oriented working style

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact confidently with customers

• Fluency in English and Dutch (spoken and written)

• Willingness to travel frequently within Europe and occasionally worldwide
