<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>On behalf of our client, we are seeking an <strong>Assistant Accountant (AAT Level 3)</strong> to join the finance team. This role reports to the Finance Manager and supports the wider finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in line with company procedures and accounting standards.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>Responsibilities within this role will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Manage supplier accounts, including reconciliations and query resolution.</li>
<li>Assist with customer accounts and credit control where required.</li>
<li>Process bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.</li>
<li>Oversee both sales and purchase ledger activities.</li>
<li>Assist with month-end close procedures and prepare journals, including accruals and prepayments.</li>
<li>Support the preparation of management accounts and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.</li>
<li>Revalue foreign exchange accounts and perform related reconciliations.</li>
<li>Assist with payroll processing and payroll journals.</li>
<li>Process employee expenses in line with company policies.</li>

<p><strong>The Person</strong></p>
<p>Our client is seeking a candidate with solid experience in accounting and finance, together with a proactive and detail-focused approach. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.</p>
<ul>
<li>AAT Level 3 qualified, or currently studying towards the qualification.</li>
<li>Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.</li>
<li>Proficiency with accounting software, such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP.</li>
<li>Excellent Excel skills and a high level of attention to detail.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>

<p><strong>The Salary</strong></p>
<p>£28,000 – £33,000 per annum.</p>

<p><strong>The Hours</strong></p>
<p>Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.</p>
