About this PositionLangston University is seeking a full-time Instructor/Assistant Professor of Social Sciences in the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities. For the Spring/Fall 2026 semesters.
Faculty member must be prepared to fulfill the responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service to the university. The faculty member will teach a minimum of 12 hours per semester in lower and upper division Sociology courses as well as Criminal Justice courses. Faculty member will provide mentorship and academic advising to undergraduate students. Faculty member should be skilled in the application of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Faculty member will actively seek grants and other funding to help strengthen the department’s research program and provide student support. Faculty member will participate in departmental, school, and university projects and committees. The faculty member will play an active role in shaping the future of the social sciences and humanities department through departmental planning and development.
Required QualificationsA Ph.D. in Sociology or similar field from a regionally or nationally accredited university is preferred; Master’s degree candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
