Accounts Assistant

I am recruiting on behalf of a long-standing and well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley, who are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their small and supportive finance team.

You’ll be joining a small, friendly finance team, giving you plenty of exposure to the day-to-day running of the accounts function. While the role will initially have a strong transactional finance focus, there will be opportunities over time to gain experience across other areas of finance and develop a broader understanding of the business.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Purchase and sales ledger

• Processing invoices and payments

• Bank reconciliations

• Credit control and resolving queries

• General finance administration

• Supporting the wider finance team with month-end activities

• Developing your responsibilities as your knowledge and skills grow

About You

We’re looking for someone who has an interest in finance and would like the opportunity to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.

You may already have experience within accounts or transactional finance, or you may be looking for your first opportunity to begin a career in this area. You don’t need to have everything covered from day one — the role offers the opportunity to learn and develop over time.
