Job Description and Responsibilities This position supports daily operations within the Railroad Services department by assisting with material handling, railcar loading, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will work closely with locomotive operators, switchmen, and other crew members to ensure materials are handled safely and efficiently while following standard practice instructions and safety procedures. The starting wage for this role is $25.00/hour with monthly bonus opportunities, and our benefits begin on day one, including low-cost family medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid vacation and holidays, a 401(k) with a 5% employer match, and an additional employer-funded retirement savings account. Keep accurate and legible records Maintain clean, safe work area Maintain working knowledge of standard practice instructions Operate mobile equipment: forklift to transport materials Efficiently secure railcar loads Operate burning equipment in an efficient manner Inspect railcars and loads for safety and quality issues Use the following tools: hand torch, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel, pry bar and man lift Communicate (hand/verbal) with Locomotive Operators and switchmen Perform safety inspections on equipment as required Assist other crew members in their areas as instructed by supervisor REQUIREMENTS: Ability to learn, retain and apply new knowledge Able to work independently or in team environment Ability to become EOS Certified Fork Lift Truck -Bobcat Operator Ability to use basic hand and power tools Good written and oral communication skills Knowledge of hand communication signals for communication with crane operators Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and accurate number identification. Flexibility and willingness to learn and accept changes in job duties Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation Requires frequent walking, stooping, and periodic heavy lifting Able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits!
