Tax Accountant, Public Accounting

Position: Staff Tax Accountant

Location: Orlando Area

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 + bonus, full benefits, great PTO, and 401K

Our client is a fast growing, mid-sized public accounting firm with close to 50 employees who has been serving Central FL for years. Due to double digit, year over year growth, they are looking for a talented Tax Accountant with 2+ years of public accounting experience to join their fast growing tax department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Federal and State returns for S & C-Corporations, Partnerships, Individuals, Trusts and Not-for-Profits
• Maintain financial reporting, records and general ledger accounts
• Maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules and ensure proper recording of new purchases and dispositions
• Handle routine client questions and work with clients to obtain necessary information for financials and tax return completion
• Conduct tax research for unusual situations
• Assist in federal and state audits  
• Provide an information source in the tax area within the company

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of relevant Public Accounting experience
• Experience with various Federal and State tax returns including individual, corporate, trust, estate, nonprofit and partnership
• Knowledge in U.S. GAAP
• Financial Statement knowledge - audit, review, and compilation
• Strong technology skills - Excel, Word, and Drake software preferred
