<p>📍 <strong>Warrington</strong><br>💼 <strong>Permanent | Full-time</strong><br>💰 <strong>Competitive Salary + EV Car & Share Scheme + Bonus + Healthcare + Pension + Benefits</strong></p><h4><strong>Senior Software Controls Engineer</strong></h4><div><p>You will join Actemium Automation Warrington to lead development of control and automation software for industrial systems. This is a hands-on engineering role combining software design, PLC/SCADA integration, and technical leadership. You’ll work with project teams, clients and suppliers to deliver robust, maintainable control solutions that meet functional and safety requirements.</p></div><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Lead software design and development for PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell or equivalent), SCADA/HMI systems.</p></li><li><p>Develop software architecture, standards and reusable libraries to improve quality and delivery speed.</p></li><li><p>Author and maintain technical documentation including functional specifications, software design documents, test plans and FAT/SAT procedures.</p></li><li><p>Implement and execute unit, integration and system tests; support factory acceptance testing and site commissioning.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with project managers, control engineers, mechanical and electrical teams to ensure successful project delivery.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior control engineers and developers.</p></li><li><p>Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, code review and configuration management processes.</p></li><li><p>Engage with clients on technical issues, present solutions and respond to site queries during commissioning and handover.</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Proven experience in control software engineering (minimum 7 years preferred) with PLC and SCADA/HMI systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong programming skills in ladder, structured text and scripting languages; experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, or similar.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC/UA).</p></li><li><p>Practical understanding of control system commissioning, diagnostics and resolving on-site issues.</p></li><li><p>Good documentation skills and experience producing technical specifications and test procedures.</p></li><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and validation.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.</p></li><li><p>Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng or equivalent) or demonstrable industry experience.</p></li><li><p>Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites for commissioning and support.</p></li></ul><h4><strong>What We Offer</strong></h4><div><ul><li><p>Competitive salary with performance-related progression.</p></li><li><p>Pension, healthcare options and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.</p></li><li><p>EV Car & Share Scheme</p></li><li><p>Structured training, professional development and opportunities for technical career progression within VINCI Energies.</p></li><li><p>Supportive team culture, with exposure to varied projects across process, manufacturing and automated systems.</p></li></ul></div><h4><strong>About Actemium Automation Warrington</strong></h4><div><p>Actemium Automation provides specialist automation and control solutions for industrial clients.
