Core Responsibilities
Emergency Room Registered Nurses are responsible for delivering immediate and effective care to patients experiencing urgent medical conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
Triage and rapid patient assessment to determine medical urgency
Initiating life-saving interventions and stabilization procedures
Administering medications and starting IV lines
Assisting with procedures such as wound care, splinting, and trauma response
Monitoring patient vital signs and condition changes
Coordinating care with physicians, paramedics, and clinical teams
Educating patients and families about treatment plans and discharge instructions
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the medical record

Candidate Requirements
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
Current certifications required:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC
NIH
Cerner & Epic experience required
Emergency nursing experience preferred but not required.
